So I’ve heard that compelled House testimony is very difficult to use in other litigation, is this true? Is it a factor in these negotiations?

If Hunter Biden testified pursuant to subpoena, that testimony could be used. If Hunter Biden invoked his Fifth Amendment rights not to testify, and the House then conferred immunity on him to obviate his Fifth Amendment rights, that testimony could not be used directly or indirectly against him.

The immunity conferred on Ollie North in the Iran-Contra hearings eventually led to his criminal convictions being overturned, because the DOJ could not prove that the prosecution was not indirectly tainted by knowledge obtained from the testimony.
